GMU in Bremerhaven
The summer training visit of the Dar Młodzieży this August in Bremerhaven coincided with other events involving representatives of Gdynia Maritime University.
University Rector Professor Adam Weintrit and Director of the Ship Management Office Dr Bogumił Łączyński were the guests of Hochschule Bremerhaven’s Deputy Rector Professor Gerhard Feldmeier with who they held talks on the common subject of university studies in relation to the Offshore industry.
The Rector and Professor Łączyński also visited the grave of Master Mariner Tadeusz Olechnowicz, leaving flowers on the occasion of his 85th birthday. The last commander of the Dar Pomorza and the first commander of the Dar Młodzieży spent the final years of his life in Bremerhaven, where he died in 2016.
The occasion also coincided with Bremerhaven University’s marking of the 80th birthday of Professor Hans Rummel, the initiator of organisational, scientific, and social cooperation between the two universities.
