Sailing and Watersports Centre Sailing Days
On 13-15th June 2022, the GMU Sailing and Watersports Centre held so-called “Sailing Days” on the University’s yachts. The initiative was the idea of the Innovative Transport and Logistics Systems scientific circle, a group which works closely with the Sailing and Watersports Centre and is supervised by Dr Adam Kaizer.
The initiative aims to get more students and staff at Gdynia Maritime University involved in sailing.
On this occasion, interest in taking to the water exceeded the organisers’ most optimistic expectations. Over the three days, 34 students and 4 staff took part in several short excursions around Gdańsk bay. For the majority of them, it was their first time on a yacht.
As many as 16 of the students involved were Erasmus students from Spain, Turkey, Croatia, Indonesia, and Ukraine.
