Gdynia Maritime University GMU

On 16th September 2022, HM Rector of GMU Professor  Adam Weintrit announced the members of a Maritime Institute Steering Committee, a GMU Steering Committee and a Maritime Institute Executive Council, to be appointed in connection with the GMU and Mewo SA consortium and PGE Baltica 1 agreement.

During a topping off ceremony held at the GMU Centre for the Offshore Industry, currently being built in Gdansk, the Rector also symbolically signed the agreement for the conduction of environmental tests for the Baltica 1 offshore wind farm project. The consortium between the University and MEWO SA was appointed on 12th August 2022.

In connection with the contract, on 29th August 2022, the Rector appointed:

• A Maritime Institute Steering Committee to oversee the performance of the contract,
• a GMU Steering Council to monitor the performance of the contract,
• a Maritime Institute Executive Council for performance of the agreement between the Consortium and PGE Baltica 1.

During the sitting of the senate on Friday 16th September, the Rector then appointed the members of these bodies.

Maritime Institute Steering Committee:

• Dr Grzegorz Rutkowski,  Committee Chair.
• Rafał Kapała – Deputy Chair
• Eugeniusz Paweł Orzeszek – GMU Bursar
• Janusz Gajewski – Head of the Operational Oceanography Section at the GMU Maritime Institute.
• Michał Głuszczyński – Member of the Management Board of MEWO SA, Straszyn

The following were appointed as permanent advisers to the Committee:

• From GMU – legal advisor Piotr Sarzyński,
• From MEWO SA, Straszyn – legal advisor Marek Kaszewki.
