Master Mariners' Association Gather for Christmas Traditions
On 17 December 2023, the members of the Master Mariners' Association gathered together with honorary captains and guests to share Christmas wafers and other traditions in anticipation of the holiday season.
The meeting took place for the first time on board the "Dar Młodzieży", where those present decorated a 'captains' Christmas tree together. The group then gathered in the captain's quarters for the traditional breaking and sharing of Christmas wafers and the singing of Christmas carols.
In attendance were the Archbishop of Gdansk, Tadeusz Wojda; the Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Professor Adam Weintrit; the captain of the "Dar Młodzieży", Captain Rafał Szymański; the Director of the Ship Management Office, Captain Dariusz Jellonnek; and Father Edward Pracz, Pastor of the People of the Sea.
