Rector of Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy Visits GMU
On 21st November 2023, Rector Professor Adam Weintrit met with the Rector of the Bulgarian Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, Flotilla Admiral Boyan Mednikarov.
Talks between the two Rectors centred on the extension of cooperation in both research and teaching. The scope of cooperation includes the exchange of scientific staff, joint research projects, teaching, the exchange of research and educational materials, the organisation of doctoral studies, and joint participation in symposia and conferences.
During the meeting, Rector Professor Adam Weintrit and Flotilla Admiral Boyan Mednikarov signed a letter of intent for an increase in cooperation between the two centres of maritime education. Also taking part in the talks were Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk - Deputy Rector for Cooperation and Development; Professor Dariusz Barbucha - Deputy Rector for Science; Dr Sambor Guze - Deputy Rector for Education; and Dr Mirosław Czechowski - Deputy Rector for Student Affairs.
The topic of the creation of a consortium of European maritime universities was also discussed.
