Dar Młodzięży to Hold Open Day and Turning on of Christmas Lights on 6th December

On this St. Nicholas Day, Gdynia Maritime University will light up the biggest Christmas tree decoration in Tricity on board Dar Młodzięży in the Pomeranian quay in Gdynia. Locals and tourists alike will also be treated to the sounds of the biggest male shanty choir in Poland, and will get the chance the to come aboard and visit Poland's most beautiful tall ship.  

 

Turning on the lights

The lights will be turned on at 4:00 pm, illuminating the tallest Christmas tree - at its highest point 60 metres above sea level. All those who wish to attend will be able to watch the turning on of the lights in the Pomeranian Quay at the end of the South Pier in Gdynia.


Visits to the Dar Młodzieży

The crew of Dar Młodzieży will be on hand to show visitors around the decks and rooms of the biggest Polish frigate between 15:00 and 17:00.  


Shanty Choir on Board

Whilst visiting the ship or watch on the quay, visitors will be treated to the maritime sounds of the Zawisza Czarny shanty choir - the biggest men’s choir of its type in Poland. The choir will perform well-known shanty songs on deck between the hours of 15:30-15:50 and 16:10-16:30.
