GMU and Montenegro to Increase Cooperation
On 4 December, a ceremony took place for the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Montenegro in Gdansk. Gdynia Maritime University was represented at the event by Dr Piotr Kopacz, who had previously conducted an audit at the University of Montenegro in Kotor on behalf of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU).
The opening of the consulate was attended by more than 50 representatives of local government, business and academia from Pomerania, the Tri-City, as well as diplomats, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Montenegro.
The Consuls of Poland and Montenegro expressed their interest in increasing cooperation between the two countries through the development of relations with Gdynia Maritime University.
Our University has already established cooperation with the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Kotor, part of the University of Montenegro. Representatives of the Faculty of Maritime Studies, including the dean, participated in the TransNav International Conference at Gdynia Maritime University in June of this year, and GMU staff took part in the KIMC International Conference 2023 at the end of November.
