Meeting held at GMU to Discuss Sittings of the Commission for Climate and the Environment and Commission for Foreign Affairs
On 23 July 2024, the GMU Deputy Rector for Education, Dr Sambor Guze, the Rector of Gdańsk University, Professor Piotr Stepnowski, and Senator Sławomir Rybicki, took part in a meeting with the Marshall of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska; the Chair of the Commission for Climate and the Environment, Senator Stanisław Gawłowski; and the chair of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, Senator Grzegorz Schetyna.
The meeting was held to discuss the agenda and topics for the Senate Committees' off-site sittings, namely the Commission for Climate and the Environment, and the Commission for Foreign Affairs, to be held in Gdynia in September. Preparation for the sittings is supported by Gdynia Maritime University and Gdańsk University.
It was decided during the meeting that the agenda will revolve around topics connected with the Baltic Sea, particularly, environmental protection and renewable energy, including offshore projects. There will also be a focus on cooperation between the Baltic states and their security.
