GMU Staff Member Honoured by Maritime and River League
A member of Gdynia Maritime University’s staff, Michał Kołodziejczak, the Deputy Head of the GMU Promotions Office and supervisor of the University’s Guard of Honour, was awarded a silver “Person of Merit for the Maritime and River League” medal by the Association’s President, Captain Andrzej Królikowski, on 17 December 2024.
The ceremony for the presentation of the medal took place on board the legendary white frigate Dar Pomorza, a museum ship in the Pomeranian Quay in Gdynia. Founded in 1918, the Maritime and River League promotes the formation and continuous development of a social awareness of maritime Poland as one of the fundamentals of national existence. The “Person of Merit for the Maritime and River League” medal is awarded to persons and organisations for their distinguished service on behalf of the Maritime and Colonial League.
