Pomeranian Territorial Forum Conducts Session at GMU Centre for the Offshore Industry
On 5 September 2025, the Pomeranian Territorial Forum (Pomorskie Forum Terytorialne) convened a meeting at Gdynia Maritime University’s Centre for the Offshore Industry. The main topic of the deliberations was the energy transformation in Pomerania. Taking part in the meeting were local government representatives, led by Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of Pomerania, as well as representatives of the worlds of business and science, among them Dr Dariusz Barbucha, GMU Deputy Rector for Science; Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk, GMU Deputy Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Development; and Filip Malata, GMU Chancellor.
Those in attendance were welcomed to the GMU Centre for the Offshore Industry by the Deputy Rector for Science, Dr Dariusz Barbucha. The session was then opened by Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of Pomerania. Among the topics discussed by the Pomeranian Territorial Forum were decarbonisation, the construction of offshore wind farms and a nuclear power plant, as well as the continued development of onshore wind energy in Pomerania.
Established on the initiative of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Regional Government, Pomeranian Territorial Forum focuses on strategic challenges facing the region. The Forum serves as an advisory and consultative body for the implementation of the Pomeranian Development Strategy 2030.
