University Hosts INCONE60 Project Meeting at Centre for the Offshore Industry

On 11-12 December 2024, at the Centre for the Offshore Industry on Robert de Plelo in Gdansk, a two-day work meeting was held for the INCONE60 Green Digital and green transition of small ports international project, part of the Interreg South Baltic 2021-2027 programme and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. Taking part in the meeting were partners from Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, and Poland. Gdynia Maritime University is the leader of the project.

The meetings focused on current progress in the project and outlined key activities planned for the coming months. Particular attention was put to three main modules created as part of the project:

  • SeaTech - a small and regional port management system to support the digitalisation of operational processes in ports.
  • SeaWay - an intelligent tool for the assessment of transport costs, including external costs, promoting the choice of short-sea shipping as a sustainable means of transport.
  • SeaStat - an innovative database of maritime economy statistics using artificial intelligence for data analysis, forecasting, and inference.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to establish a timetable for the next steps and discuss the progress made in the preparation of the first periodic report. Several joint promotional initiatives are planned, including participation in international conferences and scientific workshops.
