The main objective of IAMU development projects is to develop and encourage IAMU activities specifically aimed at benefiting the Association’s member Universities. A development project can therefore include, but is not limited to, developing teaching materials and textbooks that can be used by member institutions. Each project is supervised by the Head of the Standing Committee relevant to its topic.

In particular, two project which have been ongoing for more than two years are:

• establishment of a benchmarking system for maritime universities;
• development of an online knowledge-based question depository.
