The Nautical Institute is a non-governmental advisory organisation affiliated with the IMO. The institute promotes professionalism, good practices, and safety throughout the maritime industry and represents the interests of maritime personnel. GMU Rector Professor Adam Weintrit has been head of the Institute's Polish department since 2005.
