Alan MacLeay
Alan MacLeay has been working in the offshore renewable energy sector since 1998. He is currently the Engineering Director in Seaway 7 ASA, a leading offshore wind installation contractor. He studied engineering at the University of Aberdeen graduating in 1989. He is a chartered civil engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
After graduating he spent 14 years at Arup in various roles in the design and installation of offshore structures. He joined Subsea 7 in 2003 and worked initially on the Beatrice demonstrator project before helping develop Subsea 7 strategy for entering the offshore renewables market.
He is an experienced Project Manager and Engineering Director with extensive experience in all phases of offshore wind project development from initial site selection and concept development, through FEED and detailed design and project execution. This includes solving complex design problems, running technology programmes, risk management and strategy development.
He is active in several offshore wind committees and industry bodies including being the current chairman of the International Marine Contractors Association Renewables Committee and actively participates in the Industry Collaboration Committee with the G+.
