Your Magnificence, esteemed Senate!

I have the honour of expressing our congratulations on behalf of the Polish Rectors and Rectors Emeritus, who have already completed their mission.

Together, we work as part of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Academic Schools and the Foundation of Polish Rectors. It was from the inspiration of this community that in 2005, higher education institutions were given the opportunity to gain university status. Some were against the idea, and others took time to warm to it.

Years have passed since 2005, during which higher education institutions have become universities of economics, medical universities, agricultural universities, and universities of natural science. We are now also reflecting on the acquisition of university status by the Maritime Academy in 2018, and the results of the most recent evaluations referred to by the Rector confirm that Gdynia Maritime University is indeed a University in its full right.

The University is nearing its 5th anniversary, and we will keep our fingers crossed for its further development.

On behalf of the entire community of Polish Rectors, I extend my warmest regards to the authorities and academic community of Gdynia Maritime University!
