Scientific research at the Faculty of Management and Quality Science
The Faculty employees conduct following scientific research:
- Optimization and management of transport systems, infrastructure and logistics facilities
- Intelligent and innovative solutions for transport, logistics and mobility
- Modeling of competitive market structures in the transport and logistics sector with special focus on the maritime transport and seaports
- Techniques for analysis, evaluation and optimization of software reliability;
- Application of information technology in supporting decision-making processes and data analysis, including Big Data;
- Computer techniques in the analysis of maritime transport systems security
- Machine learning, metaheuristics and cooperative methods, process optimization
- Forecasting of food quality and safety in logistics chains
- Assessment of biological and health-related features of selected food products and food quality in terms of consumer safety
- Determination of basic physicochemical and physico-mechanical parameters of food products
- Safe maritime transport of chemical substances and bulk cargoes
- Biodegradation of polymeric materials in natural environments
- Recovery of materials and energy in a circular economy
- Management in private, public and non-governmental organizations
- Systems for managing innovation processes in SMEs and optimizing the use of human resources in organizations
- The potential of the maritime economy and its importance in the socio-economic development of national economy and coastal regions
- Mathematical and exploratory analysis and modeling of economic processes with particular emphasis on environmental aspects
The staff of the Faculty realise numerous scientific and research projects, both national and within international consortiums. The submitted project proposals obtain support from the Ministry funds (among others: National Science Centre) and are also financed by the European programmes and institutions (e.g. Horizon 2020, Interreg BSR, CBSS, Swedish Institute).
