Ships

Gdynia Maritime University owns and operates three ships:

  • The world-famous Dar Młodzieży, an ambassador for the University, Gdynia, and Poland
  • A research and training vessel, Horizon II, capable of navigating in the polar zone
  • A research vessel, Imor, equipped with the latest generation of equipment

In the past, students were trained on board a fleet of vessels of different types and purposes. The flagships of our institution were its tall ships Łwów and its successor, Dar Młodzieży. Specialist seagoing service was undertaken on the instrument ships Horyzont and Zenit, and deep-sea angler training on the trawler Jan Turlejski.
